Using the @web Tool
What is @web?
@web
is Klu's tool for searching the web directly within a chat. It allows users to search external websites without leaving the chat environment. But the real power comes when users combine @web
with queries to internal apps or connected platforms like Notion, Google Drive, or Gmail.
How to Use @web for Web Search
- Start a Web Search:
- Simply type
@web
followed by your search query to initiate a web search. For example,@web find the latest marketing trends

Combine @web with Internal Tools and Apps
Klu allows you to enhance your web search by combining it with data from internal or connected apps. You can switch between external web searches and internal app queries seamlessly.
Example Scenario: Research and Scheduling
Let’s say you’re researching a competitor using @web
, but you also want to check your internal records to see if you have any meetings or notes related to that company:
-
Step 1 – Web Search: Start by typing
@web
followed by your search query (e.g.,@web search competitor X
). -
Step 2 – Internal App Query: After reviewing the web results, continue the same chat by querying connected apps. For example, type
@calendar
to check if there are any scheduled meetings with "competitor X" or@notion
to check if your team has noted anything about them. -
Step 3 – Combining Results: You can now see both external web data and internal app data in a single chat flow, making it easy to gather comprehensive information.
